But the power of travel does not yet work in the same way for every woman.

Behind every journey are millions of women who are part of the travel and tourism sector. For them, equal opportunities are still far from guaranteed and gender inequality remains a reality.

That is why the SUITSUIT Foundation works towards a travel and tourism sector in which women have equal opportunities and the freedom to learn, build businesses, lead and become economically independent.

We support projects and organisations that strengthen the social and economic position of women in travel and tourism, with respect for the local communities and environments of which they are part.

Because travel should enrich not only you, but also the women who make your journey possible.

PROJECTS & NEWS

EMPOWERING WOMEN OF NEPAL

Empowering Women of Nepal offers free tourism training programmes to women from mountain regions in Nepal. Although the training itself is free, accommodation during the training period is often the greatest financial barrier. With our support, several women can stay close to the training location and take part in the programme. This helps improve their prospects of finding work, earning their own income and becoming more independent.

PENDUKA VILLAGE

In Namibia, Penduka Village helps women develop their talents and work towards financial independence. Our financial contribution enabled the purchase of two overlock machines and six sewing machines. These allow women to run creative workshops and make handmade products to sell in the Penduka Shop.

CORAL CATCH

Coral Catch trains Indonesian women from the local community in marine ecosystems and coral restoration. A small group then has the opportunity to progress to Divemaster training. We support the training of some of these women, helping to improve their employment prospects in the diving and tourism sectors.
